Purchased back in 2007, this motorcycle has been an ongoing project ever since. Although it was a runner and in good shape for it's age, I'd always wanted to do a full restoration on something unique. Since the 700cc Yamaha Fazer was only sold in the US for two years. (1986 & 1987) with futuristic, love-it-or-hate-it styling, I reasoned it was a great candidate. Some 7 years on, the project is finally nearing completion, with the bulk of the work happening in the last 3 seasons (now that I have a garage where I can actually do it ;) These photos document the results so far. By layman's standards the restoration is nearly done, but I've got a bit of appearance work (polishing and painting) still to do. In spite of all the hours it has taken, it's rewarding to own a machine like this, since it never fails to elicit a thumbs-up from my fellow riders. In that regard, it's been a labor of love.
